BFF's (a long post)

10 years ago an often round table discussion with my 6 best girl friends was...What's it going to be like when we're married with kids?  Who were the husbands going to be (well 10 years ago there was one already married and another almost)? How many kids would we have? Where would we be living? About the only question we DIDN'T ask was...Would we all still be friends? We were a pretty tight knit group and have managed to continually grow our friendships as we each take new steps in our lives. We all live in a 45 mile radius and continue to have a common ground...our home town. There is a 8th person in this group but HE's the odd ball out being male and now living in another state. He is missed but always included in one way or another and we all look forward to party in Chicago for his wedding next month. Fingers are crossed that one day he and his bride will consider the small town life  again :). 

It's come and gone but we all (minus #8) were able to spend the weekend together out at the ranch. The girls get together at least once a month for dinner and the girls usually have a girls weekend away but this year we spent the weekend together with hubbies/fiancee's and children. It was perfect!

Bennet was in heaven with all the different ride on toys...from old to new. He stayed outside from sun up to sun down just playing with the tires, steering wheels and pedals. We had a few close calls of him getting smashed by one of the other drivers but we made it out without injury.

I'm pretty sure we had some wasted food after this dinner was over. These guys just wanted to play and nothing to do with eating.

The stairs were a sweet spot for Bennet and Cole. We were telling Cole no and he just decided to pout.

But then turned around and gave me some smiles. 

Bennet just chose to push all of them because he wasn't sure how to make them go any other way.

B's onto another one. After posting all the pics of him with these boy toys makes me realize we have ZERO truck/tractor toys at home. Note for any family wondering what to get him for his bday!!!

We missed you Jake & Shayne and we plan to get it on the calendar for next year so you can two can be there!! Thanks Beth and Trey for hosting!!! Looking forward to many many many more years...especially when the kids can entertain themselves, feed themselves, bathe themselves and put themselves to bed. Well not really because that would mean they were all grown up :(
