Baby it's cold outside - Breckenridge Day 1-3

We're playing in the snow for a couple days in Breckenridge. We lucked out for once and snuck through the blizzard in Denver to get here. We ALWAYS get hung up in the airport or have delayed flights and even though Denver was having the worst storm they've seen since 1912, we landed and made it out of the airport for a reasonable drive to Breckenridge.

The family bright-eyed at 6am riding the parking shuttle to the airport in Houston. What I didn't get a pic of was our luggage that filled up the entire parking shuttle. Actually we're weren't that bad, but managed to transport 3 large suitcases, 3 car seats, a stroller, 3 backpacks and of course Sophie without loosing any of it.
(shaky phone pics...sorry)

Lil Man was a trooper and it paid off to have an 8am flight. We had two entire rows to ourselves.

The girls watching Elf on the Shelf for the 999th time. Check out the nose picker. Nice shot Daddy.

We unloaded our bags and headed right out into the snow. They had just completed an International Ice Carving Competition so we checked out the sculptures and had the famous ski town pizza for dinner.

We woke up on Day 2, layered up and took off to go sledding. The girls were a little hesitant to go down with Poppa and Daddy the first time and we're pretty much done after Daddy sprayed snow in their face going down the mountain. Mommy saved the day and I got my exercise after having to walk up the mountain and take each of them a couple more times after they refused to go with anyone else. Hopefully they'll learn to go on their own before we leave here.

Lil Man just watching all the sledders.

Poppa and Clare on their way down.

Daddy and Adde wiping out.

The girls going down a little snow pile.

Poppa and Clare again.

Mommy and Clare.

After getting warmed up sledding, we headed over to meet Instructor Banks and get the girls skis.

The girls with Mr. Banks.

Gearing up for a little trial run.

Again, Bennet being a trooper and just gnawing on my finger.

and...that was it. A 5 minute trial run and they were done with the skis. We didn't want to push them as they were going to start off fresh in the morning.  I told them I wanted to take a picture and Adde said, "Mom, I have an idea, how about Clare faces you and I turn the other way?" My little creative posers.

The 3 snow bunnies.

We warmed up and had a nice dinner at the house. Bennet loves his big boy chair and got to join us at the table for dinner.

Just relaxing...and snoozing.

The next morning all dressed and 'ready to hit the slopes' as they kept telling us..."Come on, we're ready to hit the slopes!"

Poppa's friend and instructor, Mr. Banks took them out for a lesson and although they did ski about 50 yards, we determined they are all talk, no action. They love to talk about skiing, but when they get out there, they're not interested.

Mommy and Daddy weren't allowed to join them so no pics....and this is what they were doing when we walked out to check on them. Ummm...pretty sure they are not thrilled about skiing but sure do love to eat snow and slide down the piles.

More to come....
